How long will it take?
Training is an ongoing process which you will enjoy throughout the dogs life. All dogs and humans learn at different speeds and start with different experiences; therefore there is no set time limit. Everyone who visits regularly and practices at home will see a marked improvement in their dog, and will have an improved knowledge of how to achieve their aims and make further progress.
Do I need any special equipment?
No, please don’t rush out and buy a new lead, collar and other training equipment. You will be advised on your first visit on the best equipment for your dog. The correct equipment will be on sale at the training session at very competitive prices or you will be free to shop around once you have had the advice.
What shall I wear?
You will be more comfortable in a pair of walking boots of sturdy walking type shoes; ladies will find it more suitable to wear casual trousers.
What do I need for the first training session?
An up to date vaccination certificate
To be able to indicate that you worm your dog regularly
Show details of identification required by Law
Have suitable and correctly fitting equipment
Have suitable grooming equipment
Have a suitable poop scoop or equivalent
Where does the training take place?
Each session takes place at Quintessential Quarters (map contact us) however environmental and location training can be arranged. Each session is tailor made to each client and dog. Having a good knowledge of how the dog thinks and functions will give you the leading edge. Like humans a dog needs to learn in a language that they understand. The owner and dog team go through the system of training at there own pace so you can attended the training session at a time that is convenient to you.
What do I do next?
Complete and submit a dog and handler profile and the trainer will contact you within seven days.
What breeds?
All breeds are welcome including cross breeds.
Is my dog too young or old?
Dogs can start training as soon as they are through their inoculations; please don’t wait because the earlier you start, the easier it is for me to help you through any behavioural issues. However if your dog is in its senior years then don’t worry – it’s never too late to start.
