About Us

Quintessential Quarters is a small and exclusive boarding kennels and cattery that offers care and accommodation of distinction. Owned by Craig and Karen this friendly, family run business has already set a bench mark to which other facilities are judged - all within two years of opening. 

It is positioned in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside, with convenient access for the local community as well as those situated further away (10 minutes from Junction 15 of the M6). 

The Team 

In 2004, Craig graduated with an HNC in Canine Behaviour and Training (including Kennel Management) and recently has become a member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (BIPDT). Karen is a qualified nurse and Lorraine Cook, another valuable member of our team, has a BSc(Hons) in Animal Management Health & Welfare. We also have 5 other qualified members of staff that help to look after the boarders. 

By talking to our customers, we have found that they feel at ease knowing that we have a broad knowledge of animals, animal welfare and care, as well as a working partnership with a number of veterinary practices. 

Our comprehensive electronic booking, checking in and out system reassures each client that their pets are in the right hands. We create a profile of each animal by recording its likes, dislikes, eating habits, medication, sleeping patterns, behavioural issues, nervousness and anxieties. This can be referred to during subsequent visits, enabling continuity of care each time the boarder stays with us.

Our Mission

We are committed to providing the very best level of care for every animal that visits our exclusive cattery and kennels. Each staff member is appointed a small number of animals to care for, meaning that the boarders are continually cared for and allows us to quickly monitor any changes in their health or behaviour.

All of our food, bedding, accommodation, toys and play areas are of the highest quality as we believe in providing the best for our boarders. We want your pet to feel at home here, to help to minimise the stress of being away from you. 

The expectations of dog and cat owners are now higher than ever, which is further being reinforced by new legislation. Generally, responsible dog and cat owners want more for their pets and we believe that a similar attitude should be adopted by the boarding industry.

Our Awards

We are one of only six joint catteries and boarding kennels in the UK to be approved by the Feline Advisory Bureau and our brand new system is also compliant with Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) standards. The accommodation has been awarded the BS EN 9001 British Standard Award and we are also recommended and used by Veterinary Practitioners throughout Staffordshire and neighbouring counties.
